The Association of European Vehicle Logistics offers the only formal qualification in vehicle logistics available anywhere in the world.

ECG is proud to announce that twenty-two young professionals have commenced a new course of the ECG Academy.

They will be awarded the prestigious Certificate in Automobile Logistics Management at the ECG Spring Congress & General Assembly in May 2020. There are currently more than 250 Academy Alumni who have achieved this highly respected qualification.

ECG Academy was developed in 2006 in response to demand for specialist training for middle managers working in the finished vehicle logistics sector. Now run in partnership with the Education Unit of KPMG this is a unique certificate of excellence and is the only formal qualification in vehicle logistics available anywhere in the world.

The course takes place over 5 modules and 26 days with a combination of intensive practice oriented training and classroom work. These modules are held at different locations around Europe to give the participants insight into the practical realities of the different elements that make up vehicle logistics, as well as the regional variations across Europe. Module 1 took place in Berlin with a strong focus on negotiation skills, both theoretical and practical. It also included an educational site visit of ECG Member MOSOLF SE & Co. KG.

Each year one exceptional student receives the distinction of being awarded the Giovanni Paci award for Best Student. The best group (the Academy emphasises teamwork and networking) receives the Prof. Josef Decker Award for Innovation. This year students will also have the opportunity to win a new award – The ProAct Award for Digital Mindset for the best thesis in the field of information technology. This award is offered by ECG partner ProAct International and reflects the increasing importance and role of digitalisation in vehicle logistics .

ECG’s Education portfolio also includes two other training courses open to both members and non-members.  The highly successful Negotiation Management course was launched in October 2017 and is run in partnership with the Negotiation Academy Potsdam (NAP) at the University of Potsdam.
